In 2014 an academic and practice partnership was established between Florida Atlantic University and Boca Raton Regional Hospital. A Project Team was formed to build an interprofessional collaborative education and practice model and the early assessment phase was funded by a Florida Atlantic University Christine E. Lynn Caring Research Award. This initial work laid the foundation for the team to apply in 2015 for a President's grant from the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation which has funded the project since July 2015. The grant officially ended in December 2016, however, the Project Team is still working on the sustainability phase. The project remains ongoing.

Additionally, the team has met face to face with staff by attending unit meetings on the 3 pilot floors--sharing the assessment results and obtaining feedback on interprofessioanl rounding.
